a theme park is closing, there's a line of people who are all joking around. i brag to some girl that i can leave and enter when i want for free because i work at efilm. as i leave i pick up a lost id from an attendant of a fat girl i knew in lambuth. at a show in a theater of some kind, big, dark one, deep red curtains, old time chairs, bannisters, levels, walls. the audience likes it. when it ends they play the track i'm doing that sounds like the whole world for jack and benny, with more flange and phase shift in the ride for some reason, but they clap when that song plays as they exit and i think wow i really need to make that longer. outside i see karen who is distressed, i invite her to eat. where we are the courtyard is huge, with fountains and weird levels of concrete and mini park areas and bars and stuff. the restaurant is on this half level that is tricky to get to, going down spiral stairs and inclines and whatnot. i know how to get there but i don't tell her. i leave while she's still looking and meet up with someone else. i have the id still and show it to her, and she goes oh, that's elizabeth labella, and i go you knew her? and she goes yeah. it isn't her though, i knew her from saudi, not lambuth. we go to the restaurant too, and for some weird reason before i go in i play this really complicated synth that sounds great but doesn't play notes that are too high, above maybe the third or fourth octave. when i finally go inside the restaurant, both karen and the other girl are sitting along the right wall in the very romantically lit place, karen in the far corner and the dark haired girl in the booth one up from her, and i think, oh shit, why did i do that? and as i'm waking hope that they will like each other if we all sit at the same table. i'm still vaguely deciding who should sit where at the two person table with a chair pulled up as i'm realizing i slept through my alarm again.
